Haven't seen it. I just started the book. I'm going to see it after I'm done with the book so that I can see how much of the movie is B.S.

The coaching staff in the movie is now the coaching staff at my high school. They moved from Odessa Permian last year and now all work for Temple High, except for the coach that Billy Bob Thornton portrays. I think he may have retired. But it's really trippy to know that the characters being protrayed in a movie are guys that you see walking down the hall every day, and that an actor came and interviewed Coach Belew at a restaurant here in town.

Wow...I suppose The Program is number two in your book and Air Bud at number 3.

From what I heard about the movie is, that every single hit in the movie is a bone crushing hit - in other words, it was excessive and overdramatic.

I'll wait for it to come out on dvd. Also, Explosions In The Sky scored the soundtrack to this.

puh-leaz

I heard it wasn't your average sports flick but unless the twist is that the football team gets abducted by aliens and they are saved by 6 year old girls with disintegration lazers, this would hardly be the best...

Going to see it and Team America tomorrow. Looking forward to it, as I've heard pretty much nothing but good things.

I saw it the weekend it came out, and I really wasnt all that impressed. I am a very big critic of football movies in general, having played it in high school and college. I think its just really hard to portray an ACCURATE picture of football experiences, since everyone has a different experience. When comparing it to sports movies, i think it was one of the best SPORTS movies of all time, which still puts it at the very bottom of the list of movies, since sports movies arent all that good. Although, Neccessary Roughness, starring Sinbad among others, was a good movie :D

I'm at least looking forward to hearing the soundtrack, if anything.

Saw it and enjoyed it. Obvious cliches, but then again, it's a true story.

Edit: soundtrack was really great, too, as has been mentioned.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the only coach who has a NAME in the movie, or even a speaking line, is Billy Bob Thorton. But none the less, that is cool that you now have them as your coaching staff....good luck this season.
