The Virgin Suicides - Sofia Coppola's first film. Heard it was good, and also heard it was boring. But Air did the soundtrack so....

Throne of Blood - Kurosawa's take on Macbeth. I actually just need to finish it but its good so far. Wasn't blown away like I was by his other films only because I know what was going to happen.

Alpahville - Jean Luc Godard, saw it last week but I may watch it again for kicks. Godard is great.

I need to see some goddamn Kurasowa films.

And The Virgin Suicides was pretty average. Nothing compared to LIT.

We watched it in World Studies, and it's fantastic. I have very much respect for McNamara, simply due to the fact that he was willing to admit his and America's mistakes.

The Virgin Suicides is an excellent film, you just have to approach it the right way. It's not a plot driven Tarantino piece filled with cool shit. Appreciate the haunting quality of the characters, the music, and the setting, and you'll like it.

I thought the cinematography and soundtrack were both excellent, but the story seemed pretty cliche and juvenile. And the writing was kind of weak too. And when it ended, it was just kind of like "Wait, why do I care about these characters?"

It seemed very flat and one-dimensional to me.

What do you think of The Life Aquatic? It's been rented out a lot where I work, but I heard one guy say it was stupid. Then again he didn't like Lost In Translation.
