[rant]

so my buddy, who also happens to be a relative of the cousin variety, wanted to play on my deck hockey team this season. so i ask the guys if he can play, and explain the situation.

the situation is this, he will make the minimum required games to be eligible for the playoffs, and then he would try to make all the playoff games.

after him bailing on 4 playoff games so far (vacation and having to take clients to pirate baseball games) our final game of this season is tomorrow and is winner take all for the championship.

i told him, if he does not make it tomorrow, i will never step foot in his house again, and apparently he thought i was kidding.

he just called me to say he has to take clients to the pirate game tomorrow.


aside from him actually having priorities and putting his very well paying job above playing hockey, i cant say he pisses me off in the least, even though, as much as i love his wife, she hates the fact that hes 30+ and playing organized sports for fun, she has cost us a previous championship cause she wanted him to watch Must See Thursday on their anniversary, even though he made plans to go away with just her and no kids, for an extended weekend to celebrate it.

now i like to consider myself pretty much a man of my word, and i can think of maybe 3 times i have gone back on my word. his kids are cuties, even if the girls are very aprehensive around me and their brother reaches for me everytime he sees me enter the house, but at some point, dont people have to be accountable for their word?

it also pisses me off that for some ungodly reason, i am the person in the whole damn family that when people have a computer problem (naturally), need something built, something fixed or what not, that gets called upon and then questioned when i have no fucking clue.

it makes me want to pick up my bags and just flat out move away
