Very surprised to see that jet plane turn out to be a stealth.

What does everyone think the big surprise is going to be next week?

Preview made it out like Edgar had something to do with it. But that has already been done, so that can't be it.

I'm going to say that Air Force 1 is shot down. Edgar's involvement would be that he didn't run those hourlies quick enough to catch on to what was happening. It's funny I really liked edgar when the season started but they've made him less likeable as the weeks go on. It's hard to believe sometimes that this is all supposed to have happened in one day.

They say it is going to be something shocking and huge, and everyone is talking about Air Force One going down. It has to be something else that no one has thought of yet.

It wouldn't surprise me if they take down Air Force One.. knowing that Palmer will be back in a few 'hours'.

My money's on the president dying. Jack won't die next week, that won't be until episode #24...

Nothing much really happened this "hour." After watching next week's preview, this episode just seems like setup for something bigger. My vote also goes to a strike against Air Force One, although that's the most obvious guess.

tony hinted that theres supposed to be a big death at the end of the year. who do we think it is? big death means someone of importance. keifer has mentioned killing jack before but that essentially kills the franchise. and 24 has been renewed for another year.

major characters:
jack
tony
michelle
pres Palmer
kim
audrey
heller secretary
current president
sherry palmer

likely to die:
Tony or Michelle
Kim
Palmer

my vote:
tony or michelle would be the likely guess, the emotional death which audiences love, especially if they reconcile. but i think it will be kim. she supposed to come back for a few episodes. and lets face it, how much more of 24 can we take? what could possibly be the gimmick for next season? if kim dies, we're looking at a new jack bauer. even more pyscho, more daring, absolutely nothing to lose. its jack unleashed...

any thoughts?

they won't be bringing sherry back, we saw her die and there is no room for speculation whether she did or not. also, the actor who plays president palmer was asked if sherry would be back and he said that he didn't see that happening since she's dead.

If they took the show out of Los Angeles, they wouldn't have to worry about coming up with lame "gimmicks" for season 5.

I've been saying for about three weeks (so since the 7:00-8:00 PM episode) that I don't see this season turning out well for Jack...meaning I think he might kick the bucket at the end. I just don't see him coming out of all this. I mean, I hope I'm wrong, but...just a bad feeling.

Its a show, they could make the CTU where ever they want. They could take it to a different country for that matter.

next year, jack wakes up, takes a piss, and goes back to bed. later in the day, we see people at ctu. all the people we like. they get some coffee, some food, even see them go to the bathroom. at 23:57 (show time) there's an explosion and ctu gets moving.. some of the stuff they flagged in the day will be relevant to stuff happening in the next. day 6 will be the following day and will be a non-stop season as fox will call it. it's a gutsy move but will be the best move ever.

That's actually not a bad idea.
