Is it just me, or do a lot of directors tend to go overboard with slo-mo and just destroy movies?

VERY few directors have been to pull of heavy slo-mo successfully, the only one I can really think of is The Wachowski Bros. with The Matrix.

well you have seen pulp fiction havent you. as zebs friend is closing the door, it's in slow-mo

and sports movies always have some good slow motion of sweat dripping off of someones face
