The Low End
Off in a corner
Sitting a chair
The reverb of the low end
Tickling my ears
She remains vibrant
And the feeling remains terse
I see her fingers nimble
As she works through the verse
I look at her with an envy in my heart
So young, so quiet
So beautiful
God's work of art
And still I remain silent
And have not much to say
The winds tell me to leave
But my heart tells me to stay
The strain gets hard
And I hope I have some courage to say
"I like you a lot
And I'd like to know the feeling behind your face"
I'm waiting for the moment
That the words pass my lips
And reach her ears
And later find us locked in a kiss
The innocence of it all astounds me
I pray to keep my path straight
She might not be the one for me tomorrow
But she certainly has my interest today
Still something feels right
And I feel remiss
To think that I'm missing something
Like that opportunity for that one kiss
The kiss could tell so much
It could put us together or set us apart
The truth is in His tapestry
The lies part with His remarks
I'm praying that I get a moment to try
As long as that moment is His wish
She's so beautiful and the interest of my heart now
So why not see if that shoe fits?
The wind calls again
I turn and head away
"Maybe next time," I said
But maybe that next time was today
