I hadn't watched in forever, but managed to find NBC last night right before it all began. I liked it. It was a nice send-off and I'm looking forward to seeing the other potential bosses come in as replacements.

I thought Will's character was good on the first show he was on. But, its gotten progressively worse. He was pretty annoying most of the show last night, but his very last scene was pretty funny.

No, your conclusion, based on a small sampling, is that people who love Dane Cook and Will Ferrell are the only people that love The Office, and therefore it's not funny. And while that may your limited experience, it's ultimately wrong.

But they should have had the guts to throw in the towel and end it there.

Oh yeah, you're right. Either way, I think that was the last time I cried watching a movie.

i am surprised the show finale did not end with Michael and Holly wedding.

Was a really good episode last night.

I liked it too. More sweet than funny but that was okay since it was Michael's goodbye. Really impressed with Steve Carrell, that episode might get him an Emmy. For the first couple seasons I thought he might have been the weak link in the show, to me I thought he played Michael Scott like a character from a recurring SNL skit. Got to give the writers/producers credit, his whole storyline was very well drawn out.
Yes, it would be easy to say that would have might a nice series finale but I'm willing to see what they do next.

Maybe I'm embellishing, but I thought last week's episode with Dwight as the interim manager was the best episode in the past 2 seasons.

At least Ferrell's name was funny. Deangelo Vickers? Come on, that's funny when its Will Ferrell playing the character, even if the character was annoying as hell.

Season finale tonight. With all the candidates up for taking Steve Carrell's role there isn't a single one that seems like they'd fit and without that Michael Scott role there's no point to the show.

However, I would watch a Kevin spin-off centered around his daily life.

That was a pretty funny finale.

Spoiler: show
A confident Darryl in the elevator... Ryan sadly chiming in when Stanley got mad "Oh, Stanley, you'll live forever..." and then the way they left it with the Finger Lakes cliffhanger.

Jim Carrey would be great as the manager, but not as that upstate New York kind of character. If he was playing the Liar Liar/Yes Man kind of role, it'd work.

Its just kind of impossible to replace Steve Carrell's role.

I've never had much interest in the American Office, though I absolutely loved the original. I went ahead and watched the finale this morning of course knowing about all the guest stars, partly because I had some time to kill, and overall I thought it was pretty funny.
