for a pilot it looks great. pilots usually suffer from writers not knowing the characters as well as they will a couple seasons in. I think the talent attached to the project show that the project has a lot of potential

Ass Burgers. thats all i laughed at. McHale didnt look convincing to me. and what talent, really, the host of a cable show, a comedy legend that hasnt done anything good in 20 years and the dude who butt dials?
I mean ive seen a lot lot worse. But i see nothing here that makes me excited... and i realized while watching the Scrubs finale the other night... that i have literally never watched a scripted show for an entire episode on anything other than NBC and FOX... so i really WANT to like this. Im still even holding out hope for parks and recreation.

Joe McHale's a talented entertainer I'm glad to see him step out from the soup green room.
The Donald Glover is from a comedy group who did a sundance movie called "Mystery Team" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1237838/ ) which was a hilarious movie. Another member of that troupe writes for 30 Rock and wrote one of the best episodes of this season. They are extremely talented.
Alison Brie from Mad Men is a really talented actress. I worked on a film last summer she was in, and though the movie wasn't very good, she still flourished on screen. John Oliver is an actor and writer from the daily show, which we all know is a great program. Not to mention we've seen many stars make their career after their runs at the daily show.
And Chevy Chase is a smart guy and I think he still has the potential to be funny, and I think he will be on this show. You said it your self he's a comedy legend. Bill Murray made a comeback why can't he?
Those are the people I know about. Granted I've had some experiences that others haven't had, but if you don't the potential in those cast members.
So that is the talent I'm talking about, the show has great potential.
If you have never watched a scripted show other than NBC or FOX you should start catching up on your HBO. It's a trailer for a pilot too, once this show hits its stride I expect really quality television.
Also why were you watching the Scrubs finale?

Sorry, I meant Network television. I have never watched a show on CBS or ABC all the way through an entire episode- i just added scripted as a caveat due to the fact my wife used to watch survivor. I avidly watched OZ while it was on, the last couple seasons of the Sopranos. Curb, Big Love, Dexter...... and of course, The Wire.
I hope its good, and i really like McHale (although the Soup has grown very very stale the past 3 months or so), so i want it to be good. Murrays comeback as a comedic actor is VERY debatable. Im assuming you're refering to Life Aquatic and maybe Tennenbaums (which a this point is kinda old). He has started doing far more serious roles, to some acclaim, but actually being FUNNY is questionable.... and his lull was a lot shorter than Chase's. It could be argued that his last funny role was Christmas Vacation, and others would say it would Be Caddyshack/Europeon Vacation.
Because i saw it on the "guide" on my TIVO, and i have always enjoyed Scrubs quite a bit.

well ABC is mainly dedicated to a female demographic. CBS i sometimes think aims for the braindead so your probably right to avoid those. NBC right now is probably the best network for comedy or scripted programming in general, but unfortunately its getting pounded in ratings by american idol. FOX has a history of putting on quality scripted programs too, so its no mystery why you'd end up on those channels.

Exactly. Better off ted seemed like it could be okay, based on the previews I saw watching Scrubs... but i think thats just a General curiousity because it has Portia DeRossi from AD.
and i do have to amend my statement from before, i did watch the first 2 episodes of Numbers on CBS because i liked Rob Morrow in Quiz Show.
I want this show to be good, because with Scrubs gone, and the Office becoming VERY inconsistant, Earl being mediocre at best, there is very little funny on TV other than 30 Rock and Sit Down Shut Up.

Chevy Chase was far and away the best part of that episode. It was decent, but will need some time to develop.
I agree too. But that one guy Ahmed (can't exactly remember his name) was pretty funny too. When he got his text message, "I've never gotten one of these before." And him quoting "The Breakfast Club." LOL
