Best filmmaker of our time? My arguement is yes...
Kill Bill Vol. 2 Pulp Fiction Resevoir Dogs
All excellent films. And everything else that he has been associated with is well above average.
So what do you think? The best of our time, yea or nay?
Nay, he is great though. His films are way to similar though for me to put him among the tops. He is great at what he does, unfortunatly that is all he does.

Best of all time? No. Best of our time? Absolutely.
Exactly. He's definately the best of our time.
What do you mean by our time though? Would that include directors like Kubrick, Spielberg, and Scorcese? If you are just talking about directors that just came on the scene in the last 15 years, then he is among the top. I think Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson, Boyle, Raimi, Russell, and the Coen Brother are all as good if not better. And several newer directors like Copolla, Nolan, Aronofsky, Spike Jonze, Ritchie(minus the Madonna flick), and Gondry are all great, but need a few more films under their belt.

Overrated but still very very good.
I don't like that he's becoming a brand, like putting his name on Hero when he had nothing to do with it's production, and getting a lot of exposure in the Sin City ads for guest directing a scene. Putting his name on it won't make it a better movie.

I am not counting Kubrick, Scorcese, Coppola, etc. I wouldn't call that "our time" necessarily. I think filmmakers that began in the late 80s/early 90s more suit that title.
i'm sorry but From Dusk Til Dawn fucking sucked. Well, everything up until the vampires appear is cool, but after that it blows. and true romance wasn't all that great, maybe if QT would have directed it, maybe. Everything else has been pretty awesome, esp. NBK and the Kill Bill's.

I strongly disagree. It was fucking awesome until the vampires showed up, and it was still kickass after they did. A great, gory horror comedy. And it had Tom Savini!
