being a doodler artist here, i have always loved comic book art.

im mostly a fan of the Marvel work people have done, but here i go and why i like em.

Alex Ross - most life like paintings i have ever seen. his work in kingdom come was awesome, and my brother picked up the trade paperback of Marvels and all i can say is noone will ever do anything better

John Romita (and his sons) - a very basic look, no extrodinary details, just enough to convey the story and his facial expressions are fantastic

Jim Lee - extrodinary detail and very crisp clean smooth lines, his attention to detail is unparalled, his growth as an artist can be seen on his run on Alpha Flight to Xmen 248, its leaps and bounds, like he took roids

Marc Silvestri - THE XMEN artist. noone has even come remotely close to capturing the roughness and hardness of marvels merry mutants. his run on wolverine will never be matched either

dan jurgens - soley on his death of superman crossovers. crams alot into the frames but it all serves a purpose. can at times be out of proportion, but still very clear and conscise

and probably my all time favorite artist

John Byrne - the man knows no limits. his ability to draw a hero who isnt so muscle bound yet to be able to draw the hulk and really make you think he can lift a planet is astounding. there is no unused space with him and his ability to draw facial expressions lends itself to the story telling 10 times over. anyone who wants to be a comic book artist should give him 10% of their pay and take notes. the guy is KING

Jim Lee is a bad ass, as is Silvestri. I like McFarlines style, but I'm not a big fan of his writing. Pretty much all the early Image guys were my favorite artists.

They also proved why artists are artists and writers are writers (except in unusual cases)...

I loathe Jae Lee.

Jim Lee was always my favorite. I also liked Erik Larsen, especially his work on Spiderman.

YES.

Probably my two favourite comic artists of all time.

Sergio Aragones's Groo is maybe not for everyone but I loved it when I was younger.

JRJR has always been my fav....especially on Amazing 30-36 (volume 2) and his new work on Wolverine and Black Panther

Rags Morales is also the bomb for his work on JSA (Hawkman Returns arc) and Identity Crisis
