Hello. I just got back from the ten show run at the Zipper Theater in
New York City and I wanted to thank all the people who showed up night
after night. I had a great time and wish I was still hitting that stage
every night.
I have four shows coming up this weekend in Santa Monica, CA at a very
small place called McCabe's. Two sets a night, Friday and Saturday
April 15 & 16. All the money will go to the kids at the Hollygrove
Children and Family Services Center in Hollywood, CA. See below for ticket
info..
These will be the only Los Angeles area shows I will be doing.
I don't like doing shows in LA but it's been a long time since I've
done a show at McCabe's and it's always a good thing to pitch in to
help out over at Hollygrove. Keep those kids fed, I say. So anyway, I
have a lot of new material that I hammered out at the Zipper shows and
am looking forward to two sets a night at McCabe's.
We have a new CD here at the company. It's 2CD set of comprising the
Get Some Go Again album along with the Yellow Blues CD with two live
cuts and a music video and press kit thing thrown in. Get Some Go Again
had been out of print for some time so I figured we'd throw the entire
session and then some into a single set to consolidate things and get
it all out there at a good price.
Some advance warning. We are releasing two books of mine this year. The first one is called Fanatic! The book is a greatly expanded edition of the annotated notes from the radio show Harmony In My Head I had on Indie 103.1 here in LA last year. The book is full of information on the songs and bands I played on the shows as well as anecdotes, website addresses and thousands of word's worth of self-indulgent music fan boy's creed. This forest clearing tome will be available later in the year. When we get closer to the publication date, we'll let you know.
I will be in Australia for talking shows in May, I am looking forward
to getting down there again, it's been almost two years since I was
there. Dates listed below.
We just finished the May episode of Henry's Film Corner and Crispin Glover was my guest. He was a fascinating interview. We discussed his movie
What Is It? which was one of the most jarring film experiences of my short life and has to be seen to be believed. If you want more info on Crispin and his film, here's the place to go: http://www.crispinglover.com I also reviewed a film that will be hitting theaters soon called The Smartest Guys In The Room which is a documentary on the Enron scandal. Really compelling stuff. I watched it twice. I hope you get a chance to see both films.
Anyway, when other dates for upcoming shows come in, we'll let you
know. Thanks. --Henry

I'd love to go. I've heard so many great things about his spoken word shows. It's just everytime I look at him it looks like he's going to kick my arse.

It's just his way, he wouldn't hurt a fly....
you should go see him if you have the opportunity.

I've seen him twice and he was excellent both times.
