I haven't decided which game to get this year, they all look like they will be pretty good... at the moment I'm leaning toward MLB 2006, but that may change depending on what others have to say about MVP and 2k5. At any rate Gran Turimso 4 will keep me busy while other people discover bugs/glitches in the baseball games.
Things I like from all 3 games:
MVP - The build a stadium feature looks great, and would have probably sold me on the game if you could move a team to a different city like in Madden.
2k5 - Will have the best presentation. Jon Miller's play by play was outstanding last year, probably the best pbp I've heard in any game. (Another plus is that ESPN was the only game to show OBP in the stat lines)
MLB 2006 - Should have the best gameplay/realism. The career mode also looks pretty cool, as does the franchise.

I'm an EA loyalist, but I'll actually be getting 2k5 instead (or in addition to). Tomorrow, I'm going out and picking up 2k5 for $20. I might end up getting MVP, but I'm looking for more in the gameplay this year than EA has delivered. MVP 2004 had me glued for months, but I'm going to finally give another company a shot. I've actually never purchased a sports game made by anyone other than EA Sports, aside from maybe NBA Jam.
I'll probably end up getting 2k5 for PS2 and MVP for PC, just to have the best of all worlds.

Gona get 2k5. Ea;s been weak lately. MLB is still a far last tho.
with all the new features in MVP though I think its going to top the espn games. All the best new stuff in MVP are geared toward game play, not just graphics....let me know how espn si though, ill always be willign to try it

just the way you PLAY the game, the new "hitters eye" looks like it will make batting extremely detailed and hard to master, the pitching functions look new too
