I loved this movie. I love pretty much anything Lynch does but this was a much more moving film than I thought he was capable of doing. The cinematography was gorgeous and its nice to watch a film that is simple yet deeply moving at the same time. It doesn't dwell on tragedy or death or excess like so many films being made today, yet it is a mature and beautiful artistic statement.
For me it just hit all the right notes tonight. The landscape is definitely reminiscent of where I grew up, and I was impressed that Lynch portrayed Midwesterner rural dwellers with compassion and deep humility. Very beautiful and moving film that I strongly recommend for anyone who wants to stray off the typical beaten path of Hollywood blockbusters.

It is really such a great movie. I first saw it on the IFC channel while i was at school. Its a very moving film for everyone, because there is something in that movie that everyone can relate too. Highly reccomend this movie to anyone.
