It's a comic about how comics work... i read it in one day... 215 pages... very helpful for drawing skills, and teaches about a lot more than just comics... cool book check it out... i'd be more indepth but spaghetti's ready gotta split...

Scott McCloud, the author, is a smart guy when it comes to all things comics. I read it last summer and found it to be things I already knew, but pieced together in the context of comics.

What I really appreciated from the book was his argument that comics are an artform that deserve a level of respect. I really wished I had read this when I took Drawing II in college. I did a sequential comic piece and the prof kinda sneered at it and gave me a C.

His Reinventing Comics is good--not as sharp and fluous as Understanding, but astute of changing paradigms in the comics industry.
