I'd like to check it out...if it's as sweet as the original Metal Gear was for NES.

I found it easy, the part where you get Sokolov out of the abandoned factory, I just went in and destroyed everyone with the assault rifle and the shotgun, actually that's what I did in most of the game.

Another tip - always try and use the sniper rifle, it's really useful, and remember to hide them bodies. eg. in grass or in dark areas.

MGS3 is an amazing game, probably in my top 3 favorite PS2 games. I didn't find it to be that hard, but I'm a veteran of the Metal Gear Solid series. I'm not sure if you've played the other games, but if you haven't then it'll take some getting used to. It's all about stealth. Keep your camo index high (the percentage in the upper right). Use the tranq gun at closer range, drag and hide the bodies somewhere away from the other's patrol routes. Use the sniper rifle on isolated enemies at a distance, so that others can't hear the gunshot or aren't close enough to the intended target to notice.

If you need more assistance, check out some of these FAQ's.

AK-47: Rassvet the factory, there is only one set of stairs in the area, the AK-47 is on the platform at the top.

M37 Shotgun: Virtuous Mission location: Rassvet the factory, south of the only stairs in the area, next to the crates.

SVD Sniper: Virtuous Mission location: Dremuchij North in the jungle, when you come across a path to your right, follow it to it's end to find this gun on the ground.

XM16E1 Assault Rifle: Virtuous Mission location: Dolinovadno, cross the bridge, then follow the narrow path to your left which curves around and leads under the bridge.

Just storm in there and don't worry about getting caught, as long as you gather these weapons you will have no problem against the soldiers and will soon defeat them all.

The only weapons you need are the survival knife and the tranq gun. Aside from isolated instances where you need to use the TNT and the directional mic, I got through the entire game just using the tranq gun. Going that route also has the added benefit of unlocking a few Easter eggs along the way.

I might have to try that for a challenge :)

All I'll say is that one of the coolest fights/boss battles ever is with The End. I think that was my favorite part of the game.

I don't mean the end fight of the game; I mean the boss, "The End."

Never tried it, actually. Something to do in future playings.

that fight was awesome. It wasn't hard or anything, but it took forever, at least it did for me.
