so if i wanted to take it from my car to my house what do i need to hook it up to my home speakers? and can i put it in more then one car? like if i drove my jeep somedays, but others i drove in my wifes car can i move it to each one.
I have the MyFi. It's a portable unit that works like a walkman.
I use it in my car and in my home. You can record up to 5 hours on it and listen to it
whenever you want. I do that for work where I don't get a signal because it's inside.
BTW, Sirius doesn't have that technology yet.
Thy're coming out with a unit in June, but it doesn't get live broadcast when it's portable.

I have my MyFi hooked up to me computer.
It plays through the line in on my sound card and if there is something that I really like
I can record it as .wav or mp3 and save it. It's a neat little unit.

Do you not get a signal in other places besides your work? I'm looking to get a unit that I can use in my car and in my apartment and it would suck if I couldn't pick up a signal there.

I get a signal everywhere.
It comes with a Car Kit and a Home kit.
Both have antennas that you mount.
The car one is omni directional and the home one has to face South.
When you're just walking around the MyFi is capable of receiving a signal via a built in antenna.
I've only used it that way once and it worked fine. The sound quality is great.

Cal, What kind of setup do you have for Sirius?
I got the Starmate Replay for Xmas and have it hooked up to my home stereo system. I'm going to hook it up in my car as well and take it to work. I've only had it hooked up for a few hours and its been the best few hours of radio in my life.

cool, now do you have it in your stereo though the FM transmitter? Or is it through your amp? Also, did you have to get the home docking station as well? Did you spring for the lifetime deal, 500 and no more bills to deal with.

its hooked up via FM tranmitter and you have to get the home kit in order to use it anywhere but your car. nah, i didnt get the lifetime package, i'll be paying $12.95 a month, but it is WELL worth it.

I grew up on a farm where we had a Ham Radio.
i went to a "festival" once called "The HAM Fest 2001." i went there because i love ham. i showed up hungry as hell for ham and all i found were people selling antennas, used computers, knives, and radio dials. that was one of the worst days of my life
