Oliver Stone arrested on drink and drug charges

Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone was arrested for drink driving and possession of drugs on Friday night.
The 58-year-old film-maker was arrested at a police checkpoint on Sunset Boulevard, in Beverly Hills, California after drugs were found during a search of his Mercedes.
Police have not specified what type of drugs were found in Mr Stone's possession.
Spokesman for Beverly Hills police department, Sergeant John Edmundson confirmed that the director was released on $15,000 (£8,200) bail on Saturday morning.
Detectives said Mr Stone was one of nine people arrested at the checkpoint as part of a state-wide clampdown on drink driving in California during the Memorial Day weekend.
Stone, who won best director Oscars for his films, Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July, has previously been in trouble with the authorities over drink and drugs charges.
The Vietnam veteran was ordered to undertake a rehabilitation programme by a local court after a 1999 arrest for drugs possession and driving while intoxicated.

Drink driving? So he wasn't drunk? I'd bet the drugs were marijuana too.

While this article which it links too states nowhere that it was pills found in his car, it actually says: Police would not release details of an intoxication test on Stone or the type of drugs in his possession. So I don't know if Drudge has some inside scoop or if he's just guessing like Ensign9 and myself.
