I'm looking for recommendations on a good RPG for the PC. I tried playing the original Diablo, but it was a little basic (only dungeons, only one town) and went from pretty easy to really hard to the point where I gave up after level 7 or so.

Can anybody recommend me something good? Perhaps with a less steep difficulty curve since I'm still new to RPGs.

Here are some I am considering:

Diablo 2 (if it isn't as tough)
Planscape Torment
Nox
Baldur's Gate
Neverwinter Nights
Elder Scrolls

But I'm open to anything really if anyone can help.

Diablo is not hard, but if you think it was, you should probably avoid Diablo 2. I love both games.

what about final fantasy 10 or 12 for ps2? everyone says those are good.

baldurs gate 2 looks good so far. ill see if i can find a demo and hopefully i wont be overwhelmed.

i really liked diablo, but i had no idea how to continue after level 7 when my warrior just wasnt strong enough to take on the baddies. especially when there are like 8 with bows that run away when I chase them while all the rest pelt me.

Diablo 2 is very easy to beat when you get in with the "in" crowd. It's all about breaking through the noob stage. At that point, it's horribly easy. So assholes like us turn to cheating to get our jollies, and once you evade that whole banning system, it gets old.
It's really good for like two years of heavy playing. But it just didn't last for me.

The Elder Scrolls series is my favorite. The new one, Oblivion is amazing, if your PC can handle it I recommend it.

Morrowind was also a very good game, you should try that as well. If you get that, be sure to get the Game of the year edition which has the two expansions included.

Ok so my little brother has been playing Diablo II again and I've been sucked back in. Someone save me.
