I only read a little bit of that... but I'll be getting the complete box set, definitely. I only have phantom menace, and attack of the clones on dvd.

I remember before episodes IV-VI came out last year on dvd, there was a list of all the changes that had been made and there were quite a few but no where near what they said so we should certainly take this with a grain of salt. One of the changes then that I remember reading about was the part about that dudes arm getting cut off and they were supposedly removing the blood, but that didn't happen then and probably won't now either. It will be nice to have one nice box set for all the movies though.

I concur. I'll likely buy whatever full box set comes out, but I'd love to just get the movies the way they were to begin with.

i won't buy this, but i'll probably try and watch all the "new" versions somehow. one assumes this is lucas's "actual" vision now that all six episodes are in the can.

I think I read somewhere this is just a "wanted list" from star wars fans off of milleniumfalcon.de or whatever. Not true but some scenes do exist.

I find it hard to believe that some fans wanted to alter the opening-scroll of IV. Not that I believe everything I posted, but that one seems unlikely to come off a wish-list.

I cry fake simply because of:
Quote:
9. Chewbacca's Tarzan call has been removed

The Tarzan call was Ep. 3 as well. I'm sure George wants it there.

There are DVDs out there of the original theatrical versions. Someone ripped the laserdiscs and created menus and all that good stuff. I don't have them, but I'd love to get my hands on them.

It makes most sense if it is left in both movies.

I'll also cry fake on:

Quote:
REVENGE OF THE SITH:
The Additions:
1. A scene has been added where Yoda explains to Obi-Wan who erased Kamino from the Jedi files and that he is going to await contact on the planet Dagabah (filmed during episode III)

I assume this would take place after the birth of the twins. So the scene would be talking about the fate of the twins, force ghosts (immortality), exile, and the Jedi Achives. That is way too much information for just a short scene. All other Jedi Archive scenes were scrapped from the script or simply not included in the film. Plus is seems very disjoint and meaningless at this point of the film.

Please tell me he is done changing everything after these releases. This is far too much changing. I would love to see all the movies together (i.e. the complete collection) simply to see it the way that lucas wants it to end up. I'm not sure if I will end up getting the complete set or just the trilogy of the prequels. Since I already have the original trilogy dvd.

Some time ago, there were laserdisc rips of the original trilogy floating around on the net. They were the first "Special Editions" where Lucas only really cleaned up the blue screens and remastered the sound. These are fantastic as they are digitally sourced and had menu's and such. I'm sure if you look hard enough, you will be able to find them.
Or...
If you or anyone you know actually has the original laserdiscs, you could do it yourself. I have been looking for quite some time but have never come across them.

I only need Episode III. That's all I am going to buy. I'll rent and watch the rest off of Netflix.

The fact that this came from an imdb board is proof-positive that this list is 100% bogus.

i'll definitely pick up the three newest discs...even though the movies are pretty shitty...owning the box set for the old ones is worth it
