Anyone hear about a new "super version" of Kill Bill Re-edited, re-time lined & melded into one movie ?

I can't find any info, but remember hearing about it....

Vol. 2 is my favorite, just beacue of the charicter building, but I'd love to see a redone "one movie" version to see what QT does with it.

Wasn't it originally one big movie that he reedited to split into two movies?

Yeah, I'm waiting to buy the movies until the "collectors" edition comes out.

Yes, it does exist. QT screened it at least once, but there's no word on when it might see a general release.

The Weinsteins will take Dimension Films, Miramax's genre label, with them to their new company. However, Disney and the Weinsteins could collaborate on 25 or more projects including, but not limited to, co-productions of sequels to such hit film franchises as SCARY MOVIE and SPY KIDS. Robert Rodriguez will be one of the filmmakers joining the Weinstein Co. Others expected to follow the Weinsteins include Quentin Tarantino, whose new four-hour, NC-17 version of the two KILL BILL movies will be wholly owned by the Weinsteins, along with a planned KILL BILL sequel. Kevin Smith will deliver the Weinstein Co. his sequel THE PASSION OF THE CLERKS, while Michael Moore is expected to bring his latest documentary on the health-care system, SICKO, to the Weinsteins, though the deal has not been made.

Just in case you don't know, QT plans in another installment of Kill Bill. Vol. 3 is sopposed to come out in 2020 and will be set 15 years after the events in Vol. 1 & 2. I would assume Vol. 3 would star BB. Wierd plan, hopefully QT isn't doing this just for the money.

The "Version integrale" is the version that has both Volumes edited together into one large movie. It was first shown in Cannes.

Empire Online is one of the few online magazines that provide a review of the uncut Kill Bill. The version, that was shown in Cannes, combines both Volumes as one film.

HERE ARE THE CHANGES:
- No "klingon proverb" quote. Instead a dedication
- HOBL fight massacre in color, slightly differently cut
- gorier anime scenes
- various other scenes slightly longer
- Sofie Fatale loses more limbs
- no "baby" cliffhanger ending
- short (music-accompanied) break between two parts
- the second part (volume 2) is not different

All in all the differences are not great and some people may even wish it would be different. But this long version, let's call it the "Intégrale Kill Bill", will come to US theaters next year.

Of course, the final edit of the single version is completely unconfirmed at this date. The review only relates to the Cannes version.

^^^Sounds like the differences in Vol. 1 are from the Japan release.

QT had said Vol. 3 would be about Vivica A. Fox's daughter seeking revenge (not sure if her name is BB or not, so I don't know if that's been mentioned).

BB is the Bride's daughter. Copperhead's daughter's name is Nikki.

I think Tarantino said a while ago that the re-edited Kill Bill will be released to art house theaters exclusively, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was given a full release if the demand is high enough.

we dont know when/ if he's actually doing this. the film's storyline is set 15 years later, not the making of the film.

there is a box set available at amazon, but does anyone know if this has the extended colorized battle with the crazy 88's? I'm wondering if I should get the japanese box set before i come home to the states but like all dvd's in Japan, this one is pretty pricy.

I don't know, but it sounds like it would be more cost effective for you to wait until the full version is released in the US. I'm hoping that it might be out this Christmas.

Ive read interviews where QT does say he will wait 15 or so years because he wants to use the SAME actress who played nikki in KB1
