so I saw SWAT was on last night, and i know it was directed by Clark Johnson (Homicide, the wire) so i decided to click on the cast and crew info... and discovered that Homicide is on at 4 am weekdays on some station called "Centric" (330 directv)

this is happy news.

so yeah, this is already over.
a black centric network apparently didn't think its 4am ratings were strong enough, so they took homicide off.

Luckily i have 2 sets of the entire series on DVD

You'll be done by approximately October, 2017.

this book, rewatching the wire, and taking Chantix is making me feel like David Simon is directing my dreams.

the above is not a complaint.

so worden is bolander, and they give him a lot more depth than they ever did on the show.

This book was pretty sweet. One thing that really struck me is that the year in question was over 20 years ago, but save the passing mention of computers/dna evidence, you really couldnt tell.
I also loved the random sprinkling of names that popped up in Homicide/The Wire... Partlow, Sydnor, Landsman, etc

First of all, this was an awesome post. Fuck you all for not liking it.

2nd.
So reading the book has made me rewatch the show. I am 5 episodes in, and its a different, and better, experience (if thats possible). I almost feel like ive read the case file as i watch it. Not only do i know the outcome, i have a greater appreciation for the mindset, and motivations of the detectives. I also find myself finding the characters of Crosetti (McLarney (s?)) and Bolander (Worden) infinitely better. Since i have read the book, each of there actions is much more explained. Bayliss, Pembleton, etc were pretty well explained in the show... but Bolander and Crosetti never got as much time. Also, there episode where they are working an overnight in the summer with the AC turned off. The first time i watched it, i was kinda bored. Now it is an "episode in a bottle",on some levels, as good as Three Men and Adena.

3rd.
Is this thread the most pathetic on RM? Im never going to give up on it until at least 3 more of you have made the attempt to get into the show. I failed with Orpheus... but it'll hook SOMEONE.

This should probably be merged with my Elvis Costello and Kosmicjelli's "just me" threads.

Hey man, I said I liked it. My dropoff in watching it is actually a result of me only really using the instant watch thing, I never send discs back anymore and that's the only way to watch Homicide. I will get back to watching it eventually.
