Autobiography of Howard Zinn
This is the most incredible book I have read in a long time. It's more than an autobiography, it's a book on how to live our lives and how to treat humanity. It made me question a lot of things and I'm intrigued so I also picked up A People's History of the United States 1492-Present. I can't wait to get started.

Very easy to get into. Talks a lot of the Civil Rights Movements and Protests on Vietnam mainly. If you are at all interested in those 2 subjects then pick it up. He poses some serious questions nondirectly in the book that make you want to read more, and not just his stuff, many books on different subjects that he talks about. This book could have very well changed my life. Some people might not like it but I like the subject matter and the ideas in the book.

Seriously one of the best books I have ever read. Howard Zinn is such an incredible person! I have since bought "the people's history of the US", and that is one eye-opening crazy book.
You can't be neutral is such an inspirational book. It shows how ordinary people can change the world, and how we shouldn't just sit back and let things go on the way they always have.

Yeah, it's really a lovely book. If you're looking for stats and facts about the social justice causes Zinn stands for, it's best to look elsewhere, as this book is simply a great memoir of one of the most important American minds of the late 20th century.
You nailed it, it really is such an inspirational piece.
Were you guys in Boston? I thought it was so great to see Howard step up to the mic and have his rock star moment. He raised his arms and yelled "Stop da War!" and the whole place went nuts. Too funny.

Also check out the Progressive Magazine. I believe the website is theprogressive.org or just progressive.org Anyway you can sign up for a free copy of the magazine and if you like it you can buy a subscription for only $12. Really great magazine.

They usually reprint Zinn's Progressive articles on alternet.org. Alternet's kind of like Drudge for people that aren't in huge amounts of denial about the state of the world.
