I did a search and found nothing, which leads me to believe you folks haven't seen/heard of this show. Please do yourselves a favor and check it out on the Discovery Channel. Best show on TV next to the original Iron Chef. Those of you who HAVE seen it, lets talk why not?

watching the discovery channel take on the task of recreating life threatening hishaps has me a bit concerned. what makes the discovery channel think they're directing/producing/acting chops can pull off such a huge project and make it believable. I just envision the recreations being as cheesy as unsolved mysteries.

This show is enraging. Some of the people in the situations are reasonable, but most of them are complete morons. The couple who left their truck at the road (with a baby, mind you) after a blizzard stranded them in the mountians? The two guys who ditched thier crippled friend in the amazon (never to be seen again) because he was slowing them down? The jerk who went on a kayaking trip and lied to his partner about being an expert kayaker, then chose the most difficult course to follow, then got pissed when his friend left his idiotic ass to go for help? It really makes me think that the show has an extremely appropriate title. These motherfuckers shoudn't be alive.
P.S. - Although the way they take any excuse at all to use those cheap computer animations is hilarious.

agreed, on the website, some of the episodes, you are just confused as to why people would put themselves in that situation. the one episode i saw and thought was really good was where 5 random strangers all got on a sail boat to sail from Maine to Ft. Lauderdale to deliver the boat. they were the worst crew ever. they sunk the boat, all got into a dingy, and two of the guys drank the ocean water, jumped in and were eaten by sharks. Another woman went crazy from her laceration. it was pretty amazing that the other two survived. despite the crap acting, watching it is pretty intense because you know it is real.
i should try and watch this more often. that's for sure.

Oh god. The best one by far has to be the 5 people who were stranded at sea. Then 2 of them get eaten by sharks. A third one dies and the last 2 throw her to the sharks. Oh my god that was great.

I just saw this one for the first time last night. It was pretty engaging, but at the same time i had to laugh at the delusional idiot who jumped into the shark infested water to go to the 7-11 . I thought it was a pretty good show, far better than their usual attempts at re-enacting these things.

the first time i watched the show, i didn't realize the extreme nature of it, so when the first guy jumped in the water, i was like, "well this is dragging because they'll pull him back in the boat. and then what? another couple days at sea?" and then he was eaten and i was totally shocked. i was blown away and was immediately heralding the show as a classic. Simply because the guy was eaten. And then i was like a school girl in a theater when the second one was eaten. I was convulsing back and forth, "nah, he di' it. he di' it just got eaten. SHIIIIIT!"
Pretty cool show. the other ones i've seen aren't quite as good.

Yeah, i wasn't expecting 3 out of 5 of them to die either! I watched a couple of the other episodes but they weren't as good as this one. Though when the guy was trapped under the boulder and the crabs were starting to eat his leg, i was pretty unnerved. I saw parts of the Khmer Rouge (sp?) one as well, but not enough to see whether it was any good or not.
