Inked: I wish it was more about tattoos than the egos of the shop owners but at least it's a show about tattoos...kinda.
The last one had a tattoo artist that was also a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter. I was pretty impressed as those are 2 of my favourite things.
I don't know why every show can't have tattoos and somone getting stomped.

I don't like Miami Ink. Garver is a great tattoo artist and Yoji is funny but I don't like all the crap they go through with the clients (ie repeating the reasoning 300 times). The other artists are subpar in my opinion. Not that I could do better but I know lots of artists that could.

The A&E show is just god-awful. The shop is full of absolute idiots, and those interludes with the people posing to express thier feelings are some of the more inadvertantly funny things on TV. And calling your kid "Luck-Dog?" What the hell?

I've watched and liked them both to some degree. INKED I don't like as much as I could care less what Pink's boyfriend (who doesn't even do tattoos himself) thinks or what his life is like or his business problems, whathave you. I am more interested in stories behind tattoos and the tattoo design itself on Miami INK.

I really wish that they simply showed artists working in 3 phases:
Before - design & placement. If you need a little story it should go here
During - I like to see it happening. I want to see the outline and the beginning of colour
After - put some salve on it, pat the client on the ass and send em on their way. After they pose for a nice picture.

I don't care about any of their lives, except the fighting guy on Inked. And I certainly don't need to hear a clients story 1000 times. I am interested in bodyart in many forms and have been inked several times. I also have the good fortune of living in close proximity to a couple of world class artists. I don't think I've seen more than one piece of work on either show that I would consider well done or anything that is any better than the assembly line crap you get at shops that specialize in flash.

Inked is a show full of annoying drug people, recovered druggies, and bloated egos.

And yet... I STILL watch it.

i prefer Inked over Miami Ink def. the ppl of Miami Ink are so fucking arrogant. well, at least that oen guy is. and he SUCKS as a tattoo artist! Garver is amazingf though. and i liek watchign the apprentice.

Inked is better. but once again, they need to show more of the whole tattooing aspect. i dont want to see them in Vegas or at an ultimate fighting match. what the fuck?!
