From Edwin A. Abottt to Emile Zola, the 1,802 titles in the Penguin Classics Complete Library total nearly half a million pages--laid end to end they would hit the 52 mile mark. Approximately 700 pounds in weight, the titles would tower 828 feet if you stacked them lengthwise atop each other--almost as tall as the Empire State Building. But don't worry, a nice set of bookshelves will hold them side-by-side just fine.

As I mentione in the recent LotR thread, I worked at a bookstore while going to school.
As a result, my shelves are lined w/ many of these titles that I purchased for a very, very generous price.
The way I saw it while working at the bookstore, better to acquire all of this material now while I'm working here. It will last me the rest of my life.

When I was in school, I went to a bilingual one, and at that time there was a collection by Penguin Classics that was 3 dollars a book and it was soo cheap. It´s called penguin popular classics (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/searc ... 16-0121426)
The difference is that the other one were just books from English/American autors, no others. And from this one I can see books translated into English.
Oh, I just feel like getting a book in english now hahaha.
at a rough estimate, i'd say i probably have between 20 and 30 of those.

Do you know if Dickens is too complex to read in English?
from what i've seen of your english grammar & usage, i think you'd be able to handle Dickens without much of a problem, esp. great expectations.
