Watched this last night. It was actually pretty funny. I generally don't agree with Hollywood anymore about what is funny and what is not, but I'm glad my wife made me watch this.

It didn't know what it wanted to be though? a kind of regular guys movie with that kind of humour, infused with all these messages about big banks and finance and how we're being ripped off? very odd.

Yeah, I was an extremely UNserious movie and then the end credits were chocked full of information about the financial meltdown.

Well, that was the plot, but I didn't think the movie was trying to teach me anything.

i saw it in theatres so i dont remember everything about it at the moment... but what i DO remember is it being waaay funnier than i anticipated. i actually found it to be one of the funnier movies that i have seen recently. usually i find will ferrel movies to be hit or miss, but this one was a definite hit.
swore off ferrell after the ice skating movie. i was flipping through channels and the first thing i saw was marky mark say, "stop humming that song!" the delivery killed me. i was laughing immediately. i gave it a chance from there. what a surprise. where the hell has michael keaton been since multiplicity? the guy can do funny: "it's just captain. just captain...." great comedic timing. will ferrell was up to his old bullshit, but they gave him some good lines. the one about dancing ironically was great, as was his commentary on his shitty meal. finally, eva mendes - damn!
