This is the German flick about Hitler's last days in the bunker, told (for the most part) from the perspective of a hot piece of ass he hired to take down his speeches.
I rented this one while I was on vacation last weekend. The guy who played Hitler did a great job and the violence was kept down to a minimum. The "objective" feel to the show was certainly a new twist on Hitler. There was even an extremely moving moment in the film when Goebbels' wife murders her own helpless children - the scene is so powerful that the sadness you feel for the kids eclipses the rage for the mother who did it and the system that walked her down that path.
Definitely one to pick up for WWII buffs, or even for those who like historical dramas in general.
Finally got to actually see this one. One of the best movies of last year, no doubt. The actor who played Goebbels managed to be exactly as creepy as the man himself must have been, and Hitler....well, he was Hitler. I had no trouble believing I was watching Hitler, or Hesse, or Eva Braun, etc, etc. I recommend it to everyone, really.

I was really looking forward to this one and really enjoyed the first hour or so, but the movie was just too damn long. It keeps on dragging and the whole thing kind of feels anticlimatic. The acting and casting are great, but they could have easily trimmed 20 (maybe 30) minutes off and made it much better.

I finally saw this movie recently. Absolutely incredible. In my top 17 movies of all time.
