it starts tonight in st. paul. i can hardly wait. anyone else going to a show on the tour? anyone seen him since the release of guero? i don't know what to expect. his set lists are as varied as pearl jam's, if not more so. i hope he does some acoustic songs.

well, after witnessing the show this can stay in arts and entertainment. first of all, go early. the opener is this one man band, and while his lyrics are just plain stupid, he's fun to watch and his ac/dc covers are dead on.

beck. opened with black tambourine. played most of guero with the highlight for me being the album's last song. he was into medelies too. the hot wax, rap song on midnite vultures, nicotine and gravy medeley was great. hell, yes began with a dude doing a beat box only. all of the hits minus sexx laws were played. he did use the weird box instrument to play nobody's fault. great. then, the absolute best part of the show: a table with food and drink is brought out. the entire band sits down to eat while beck plays solo. he played a verse and chorus for about 6 songs, including debra of all songs. then he starts golden age and the entire band starts playing plates, glasses, pepper shakers, etc. it was great. they topped themselves, however, by then doing the same thing for the extended guero cut clap hands. unbelievable. ended with where it's at. the encore was e-pro and mixed business. he had a bunch of people on the stage for the encore, so if you get to go, find yourself by the side of the stage before the encore. expect the unexpected. even beck didn't know what he was going to play next at points. he tried to begin everybody's gotta learn sometime only to completely blank, apologize, and play something else. amazing show, packed house. que onda guero!

beck's opening for the Rolling Stones when I see them. I'm excited. Thanks for the review
