I've just 'aquired' an XBox360 which looks like a decent bit of kit to me. It goes very nicely with my HD telly and 7:1 surround system thingy in my living room. Now with the exception of the SNES, I've never been into console gaming, the games just never seemed to have enough depth for me, and I hate having to play multiplayer stuff on split screen. So when I heard about the Xbox live I thought it would be a good thing, until I heard you had to pay for it. Now can someone explain to me why the fuck should I pay for something that has been free on the PC since the dawn of time but infinitely more shit than PC multiplayer gaming?

its not that much really?

the fact is you are gonna have to pay for it to get it and theres no way around it

most games require xbox live to get the most out of them.

its microsoft after all, when have they ever given anything away for free?

Break it down monthly and it's not bad at all. Plus it's a shit load of fun. Get it, don't get it but playing some of the games online is what it's all about.

If your a fan of Halo it's well worth the investment. Also, I think they give you a free online trial when you get the game so you can test it out before you buy it.

It is about 5 dollars a month. Or 1/3rd of a WOW subscription. The cost of downloading Doom 1 off of steam. The cost of 1/4th of Bejewled if you want to download it on your PC. The cost of 1/3rd of a Justin Temberlake Album. It is less then an early morning movie ticket in most places. It is less then 5 percent of an average monthly car insurance payment. It is cheaper then a pack of cigarettes. It is the cost of leaving your PC on for three days. It is 10% of the cost of buying Wario Smooth Mooths for the Wii.
