No, but I definitely would like to. Comedy Central was running the episodes last weekend with the videos and everything and I just vegged out until they stopped showing them.

I was suprised that Comedy Central included the videos. Most reruns I've seen nowadays take them out. I'll be getting the DVD when I'm not broke.

Where do you see re-runs without the videos?
The re-runs on MTV2 have them - they're on almost every night.

Can you watch the episodes without the videos? Cause if so I might buy this. I fucking LOVED Beavis & Butthead as a kid and still do today.

But the videos were the best part of many episodes.

And Ricardo, I can't remember where I've seen the video-less reruns, but I can remember being dissapointed in the fact that the videos weren't there. Maybe I just imagined it.

I picked this up yesterday.

All the videos are separate from the actual "episodes" and they count each of the little skits as one episode. slightly disappointing, but it's probably the best way that I've seen that they've put Beavis and Butthead out in retail mostly because they actually put some music videos in the package. It was worth the 30 dollars, but they could have done a better job of putting the DVD together. However, I will still be buying the second volume of this collection.

Apparently, Mike Judge really hates about 1/3 of the episodes, so those will never be released, unless of course, these DVD's sell a lot.

This looks like it will be a while before we can see complete season boxed sets, if at all.

Yeah, that's it. I had some VHS tapes of the show, and they didn't have the videos.

I seriously don't understand why they can't realize that most people just want to see the old shows as we watched them when they originally came on. Put the fucking videos on there and do it right! What's so hard about that?

Personally, I got more enjoyment from watching the old episodes with the videos on them on tv than I would from just watching the show on dvd without them.

yeah, that was the Time Life series - a lot of people were pissed after they bought them.

It all comes down a rights issue. Neither MTV nor Mike Judge own the rights to the music videos, so they would have to pay out the ass to release them on DVD (you could assume that if every video for these 40 episodes was included, the set would cost you all about $500 each for MTV/Judge to break even). They decided to bite the bullet and pay for 10 vids just to give it that Beavis flavor.

MTV could use them for the show when it aired because when a record company/band gives them the video, they are giving them permission to use it pretty broadly. At least that was the case 10 years ago. Now, it's much tougher to use the video in other programming.

And thus endeth todays lesson on music video rights.

I pretty much figured that's what part of the problem was in releasing the videos, but I'm not so sure I buy what you're saying about the huge expense it would be for them to secure all the rights to them. It might be a huge pain in the ass, but a lot of those videos are by people so forgotten they'd probably take a Big Mac and the added exposure as their fee for them to be released. How much could rights to a Sugarcult video cost you these days?

I can see your point with the logistics of getting the videos out there, but I still maintain that they're not really releasing the shows as we remember them unless they can do exactly that.

I love the videos, I've just never gotten to watch the episodes without them so I thought it would be a neat feature to try once. It would be better with more of them thoughh.

No complete sets of videos w/ the episodes = no dice.

Understandable. I am sure that most of my fond memories of B & B are based on watching them late at night (often drunk) w/ my friends.
