Alright, you video game nerds...I'm trying to get a mod chip for my ps2, but I have no idea how to install one. I ordered this thing called Magic Keys. It's like three pieces of metal that you have to put in different parts of your ps2 so that you can play stuff with the lid open, and play "backups" and shit like that.

Anyone know what they are doing with this kind of crap?

The Magic Keys isn't a mod chip. It's just 3 (sometimes 2) tools that you install into your PS2's cd drive. You don't have to open the case at all, and it won't void the warranty. Check out here: http://www.magickeys.net/MagicKeys.html The only thing I don't like about it is it looks like you have to leave the cd lid open all the time (I could be wrong though). Also you MUST have Swap Magic discs for it to work.
I just decided to go with Swap Tool Pro 2006. It looks much easier, and I can close my lid. By the way, don't order a mod chip thinking you can install it yourself. Unless you have a ton of experience soldering, it's impossible! Those solder points are fucking tiny! I'm lucky I didn't mess up my PS2.

I know Magic Keys aren't mod chips..I have them. But they are a pain in the ass to get working right. They came with the swap magic disc, too. I'm just frustrated that I can't get this shit working.
