Film: A+ - My third favorite film of all time.

Book: A- - Fantastic book, but I don't think I would have liked it as much if I didn't have Kubrick's mind-fuckingly brilliant imagery to feed off of.

I like the book much better than the film. In my opinion, the film is too over the top with the violence and sex, and it also makes Alex one-dimensional by leaving out the final chapter.

i agree with that.....the movie changes your whole outlook on the plot, when compared to the book.....also, the use of the nadsat slang is simply brilliant....completely fictional language, but you get it after the first page....

If we're using letter grades for the media involved here, then both get an "A". But, as always, read the book before or after watching the film.

Film= medium 1

Novel = medium 2

Medium plural = media

I haven't read the novel, but I'll probably get around to it pretty soon. I used to really love the film, but it's lost some resonance with me and doesn't have the depth of 2001, which is surely Kubrick's best.

Debatable, but you won't get an argument from me for I don't think it's worth the time: they are both great films.

(I say "great" knowing that the adjective "great" is used far too often when referring to films here.)
