I watched this for the first time last night and wow was it good. I got it at Target today for 7.50 on DVD. Great cast, too: Kate Hudson (totally hot) Jason Lee, Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand, Zooey Deschannel, Anna Pacquin... Totally makes me wanna get up and be a rock star. I gotta try to download some Stillwater songs. Anyone else like this movie as much as me? Highly recommended to anyone who hasnt seen it!

Great, great film, though you made a mistake in buying the cheap DVD version. The director's cut is so much better.

I second that. Almost famous might be my favourite film ever. A film about music by a music-lover.

are you talking about Untitled: Almost Famous Bootleg Edition? If so then hell yea! If not, then Untitled is the one to get - comes with theatrical version of the film, the 'bootleg' edition (all the deleted scenes are left in) PLUS (the reason i ordered it from amazon coz it wasnt released in Aus....) Stillwater CD - 6 tracks.

Of course, what else would I be talking about?

Good man. As i said, that version wasn't released in Australia so i was just checking. I thought maybe America got an 'in-between' type release with a second disc of special features to go with the theatrical version of the film. Plus it gave me a chance to express my love for the awesomeness of the Bootleg version.

(ironically i just read the "My top 75 movies" thread and saw it mentioned there, and probably wouldnt have posted if id seen that first)

Fantastic film, and the "Bootleg Cut" is definitely the way to go. Watching those characters feels very familiar to me for some reason and the movie always takes me to a good place.
