I loved the first film, despised the second. The casting for the third one looks great though, not a bad actor in the bunch. Hope it turns out well.

"Tom Cruise goes to the Winchester and enlists the aid of Shaun!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with another interesting bit of casting on M:I3. I never got into ALIAS, but I'm a gonzo fan of LOST and am now a gonzo fan of JJ Abrams' casting on M:I3. Hollywood Reporter says Simon Pegg has been added to the cast that already includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Laurence Fishburn and Billy Crudup. I hope he's a British agent that saves the lousy American agent's ass over and over. Of course, he also has to the get the girl at the end of the movie. So says I. What say you?"

If they go with the ensemble concept that the first flick had, it should be alright. The second film was not a Mission Impossible movie. Tom Cruise riding motorcycles while firing guns is not a Mission Impossible movie.

You beat me to the punch.

I'm boycotting Cruise. I never liked him much, but his claim to know the history of psychology and how drugs can't help people with depression pissed me off.

Does Tom Cruise come out of the closet in this one?

That last shot w/ the missle hitting the car and that guy (Cruise?) getting tossed agains the white car looks fuckin' sweet. I'll definetly check this out, but I'm looking more forward to Miami Vice in Summer of '06. Speaking of which I think I'll start that thread since I don't see it up yet.

The first one was very entertaining and well done, the second was pseudo-Bruckheimer bullshit. Hopefully this one will actually be good.

Mission Impossible 2 is the only Cruise film I can think of that I really hate, and even that film is damn funny in a Days of Thunder sort of way. I love the guys movies, even his shit films like Cocktail are entertaining. In real life he seems completly nutso, but I can look past it at the cinema.

Me too. Plus, he's short which makes me laugh.
