I've had a thing for Alyson Hannigan ever since she shoved a trumpet up that kids ass.

I've been forced to watch this show because my roommate is crazy about it, and after watching several episodes, I think it's horrible. It's so pink and fluffy and nice, and everybody in it are 'doing the right thing' that it reminds me of some education film from the 50's. It's like 7th Heaven.

Anyone else see last night's episode? Not one of my favorite shows but that was a well done episode, even if you didn't realize it until the end.

Yes. And this is why this show is one of the best written sitcoms on TV--because as much as that ending felt like a total plot twist, if you look at the structure of the episode, we the viewers should have seen that coming.

I started cracking up laughing at the reveal at the end last night. I thought it was really funny for some reason.

I love this show. Tonight's episode kind of pissed me off though. Poor Barney. :(

I've been disappointed with this season. After a while, the wheel-spinning gets old and the jokes are getting more and more tired. Of course, when this show is on its game, I still think it's one of the best current sitcoms, especially at doing the heartfelt, and there's been some good episodes this season

Spoiler: show
Especially the Victoria episode and last week with the Barney-Robin thing

But on the whole, I'd like to see the women who enter Ted's life to be a bit more substantial and for the show to stop playing this will they/won't they game with the characters, because when it's just "funny" without any heartfelt, this show doesn't even come close to something like Parks and Rec.

I know what you mean, but when it's heartfelt it's amazing. Also, the knee jerk funny moments in tonights episode were actually side splitting hilarious:

Spoiler: show
Getting high in the arena searching for nachos. The drug reactions were typical cliche sitcom but it was delivered perfectly. Especialyl watching the security tape at the end.

Also:

Spoiler: show
I've never felt as bad for a character in a sitcom as I felt for Barney tonight the way the shit with Robin played out.

Yeah, I made my earlier post having not seen the episode from tonight, but I just finished it and I think tonight's was one of their best in a long while, maybe of the series. Like you said, hilariously put together, and when heartfelt, it's amazing. After a few lackluster ones, these last two weeks have been absolutely killer.
