alright, i did a search and didn't see a topic on this show yet, so here it is. i started watching it on the recommendation of one of my roommates and have enjoyed it thoroughly. ostensibly, i watch it for the one-liners and the incredibly over-the-top horn-dog routine of nph's (neil patrick harris, for the uninitiated) character. however, i really watch it for the optimism and reassurance that there is somebody out there for you that you will spend the majority of your life with. i do have a gf right now, but i think we both understand that we aren't a long-term/forever kind of relationship.

anybody else watch this?

also, last night they played "spit on a stranger" by pavement at the end when ted (the main character) kissed this girl. that is awesome in itself and worthy of my half-hour from 730-800 (central) being devoted to cbs.

i love the show, it and 2.5 men are the only shows on CBS I watch.

Doogie is great on this show, and it continues to make me laugh, which is all I look for in a show.

I hope its around for a while.

I watched about 5 minutes of it and found it tedious and wholly unfunny.

I think it's a great show. And it strikes me as one that will only get better. How long did it take you guys to realize Bob Saget is the future Ted that narrates?

I hadn't really heard anything about the show until I watched it. Then for like the first three episodes it was driving me crazy trying to figure out who it was. Finally I got it.

I enjoy the show, and last episode was a good one. Yeah, so he got the girl, but i thought it was a nice twist. Or maybe I haven't been exposed to that many corny love stories.

after the episode i listened to "spit on a stranger" and it is so perfect for the situation it is scary:

I've been thinking long and hard about the things you said to me,
like a bitter stranger,
and now I see the long, the short, the middle and what's inbetween,
I could spit on a stranger,
(pour/pull me out)
you're a bitter stranger.
(pour me out)

Honey I'm a prize and you're a catch
and we're a perfect match,
like two bitter strangers,
and now I see the long,
the short of it and I can make it last,
I could spit on a stranger,
(pour me out)
you're a bitter stranger,

I see the sunshine in your eyes,
I'll try the things you'll never try,
I'll be the one that leaves
you high...high...high

 It really is. Me wonders if the song wrote the episode.

if it did, the writers for that show are the sweetest tv writers i've ever heard of. a song off of pavement's last album inspiring an episode? of course, 90% of the viewers wouldn't know what it was about (especially since barely any of the vocals were in what they played on the show).

great show.... i love... they have the right amount of humor and heart. well written, well acted. and nph is just so oh, wait for it, funny.

"let's play a little game called, 'have you met ted?'"

halloween episode was classic

we always talk about doing the "have you met..." thing at the bar, but we've never actually gotten around to it. probably a combo of too much boozing and not enough single guys in our group.

legen-dary.

they played a PAVEMENT song during an episode, the show has a free pass when it comes to music in my mind. i am with you though on the music listing. along the same lines, the o.c. has a free pass musically with me cuz they played a jeff buckley song during the finale of season one and they actually do list the songs they play every week on their website.

i'm pumped for season two. it's been so long since i saw the finale that i can't even remember what happened during it :? or maybe it is just all the booze i've drank since then that has left my memories are tatters.

it must be the booze, i did some research and i was on my way to chicago when the season finale aired. in other words, i haven't seen it but now know what happens.
