Peter and Paul lose their Mary

Mary Travers, one-third of 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died.

She passed away, aged 72, in Connecticut yesterday after battling leukemia for several years.

The band's biggest hits included "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and "Puff (The Magic Dragon)".

They mingled their music with liberal politics and their version of "If I Had a Hammer" became an anthem for racial equality.

I saw an ad for a local gig with Peter & Paul a few months back. Never realized it was because she had been ill for so long. I wasn't a big fan or anything, but its still kinda sad. RIP.
