I'm happy to say I've only seen a couple of the films nominated. Looks like I did a good job of not picking stinkers in 05. :D

I've seen 4, but they were all mentioned for individual performances: War of the Worlds, Star Wars III, Fantastic Four, and Batman Begins

I think it's more with Ms. Holmes than Batman really.

I'll never understand your hatred for this movie. The only part of it that makes sense is the fact that you never liked comic books, thus I can see how it might not have had the same effect for you. For me, it was worth it just to see that Frank Miller/Batman Year One/Return of the Dark Knight take on the character finally brought to film.

You thought The Devil's Rejects was awesome.

You know someone has a weak arguement when they bring up your opinion of something else.

Actually, it's quite a sound argument. If you're going to place Bewitched (!) and The Devil's Rejects above Batman Begins on your list of good movies, I'm not going to take you seriously.

But that's just my opinion.

Bewitched was not a good movie, and I would never claim it to be. I did enjoy it though, just because of Will Ferrell and Jason Schwartzman. When they weren't on screen, it was pretty bad.

The Devil's Rejects was a great movie for what it was. It definitely was a hell of a lot better than Batman Begins, which I found to be a joke. I think it was killed mostly through editing. It was just about the worst I've ever seen.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying a movie more than another. It's personal taste. You like Batman Begins, I don't. That's cool. It doesn't make you better than me nor does it make your opinions more valid than mine.

I know, I was just trying to debate with you. If I state something in a post it's obviously my opinion and nothing else.

What did you find bad about the editing? Seems a strange gripe to me.

It was just frustratingly sporadic. There was no sense of place or time. First we were one place, and then all of a sudden we're thrown into a scene in an entirely different place years later, with no explanation at all. It was just confusing. And those fight/action scenes...good god, who the fuck was responsible for that shit? Terrible, terrible, terrible. I heard someone say that Nolan purposely made the fight scenes chaotic because he wanted to show it from the POV of the criminals. All right, that'd be fine with me if the rest of the movie was shown from the POV of the criminals. But it wasn't - it was told from Bruce Wayne's POV. This is just inconsistent storytelling, if you ask me. Little things like that can ruin a lot for me.

Not to mention the god-awful acting by Bale and Holmes.

And in the end, it's just the same recycled formula I've seen over and over and over. Boring, conventional, and utterly mediocre.
