i couldn't get into chrono cross, but i agree, chronno trigger is by far the best rpg ever. that little frog fucker is the shit!

Best console rpg? Final Fantasy Tactics in the post PSX era, and either CT or FF6.

NES -era goes to Dragon Warrior 4

shining force 1 and 2 for the genesis are tied w/ chrono trigger for best in my book

which one was FF6? is that the one where the final boss is kefka? that one was awesome. that was the last one for SNES i think. and you could get that secret character, umaro, the abominable snowman

but in the NES era, my favorite is still the orginal Final Fantasy. now there was a game.

you guys know i once beat Chaos with 4 white wizards? ununbelievable, i know, but its true.

The original FF can eat my balls. Such a frustrating game.

The Dawn Of Souls version isn't bad, though.

and yeah, FF6 was the one with about 16 characters or so. Mog, Umaro, Gogo, it was good stuff. I crushed Kefka come the end because I was obcenely leveled up.

Also if we take DnD RPGs into account Baldur's Gate 2 is pretty much top of the heap for me

Chrono Trigger was fucking awesome, and Chrono Cross was almost as good. Squaresoft was basically unstoppable as far as games go for about a decade.

Hell yes, my favourite game ever.
As far as console RPG's go, FFVI is the undisputed champ. Chrono Trigger is a good second, though.

holy shit...its hard to say how i really love this game...
I got all the endings...except one!! The one that Marle and Lucca judge some characters. When is the moment that I have to beat Lavos to see this ending? I need to know!!!!

by the way : my favourite alternative ending was the one that Frog goes to face Magus in a mano a mano.
