I went into this movie last night thinking it would totally blow, but to my suprise, it was very, very funny. Steve Martin is hilarious in the role of Inspector Clouseau. The scene where the accent coach is trying to teach Clouseau to say, "I want to buy a hamburger" in American English had me rolling out of my seat! Definitely one of the funniest "PG" rated movies I have ever seen.

i went into it with the lowest possible expectations and came away mildly surprised. it wasn't awful, had a few funny parts, and i didn't pay for it. more than a few of the jokes bombed with me.
my favorite line (maybe its just my sense of humor): "do you know if the killer is a man or a woman? of course it is, what else would it be, a kitten?" (paraphrased)

For some reason I didnt like this movie. My wife loved it and everyone in the theater was laughin hard. Maybe its cuz Im a hater and dont like many movies.

Oh no...that sounds like my humor. I might have to see this. I haven't seen a Steve Martin movie in the theatre in a long time...

When I was younger and too young to appreciate. I am definitely going to go back and watch them. Which one should I start with?

I haven't seen any of the originals in a long, long time, but they're definitely good stuff. I'm glad Steve pulled it off; Peter Sellers' Clouseau was genius.
EDIT: I haven't seen the new one yet; I'm just going by people's reactions.

My point was that the new one undoubtedly sucks. I think The Pink Panther Strikes Again is the best, for Clouseau's fight with Cato.
