I agree Eternal Sunshine was the best of 2004....but otherwise it was a miserable year for movies. I count Lost in Translation for 2003. I really haven't been to the theater at all this year, I actually haven't been in months.... its just been a really bad year for movies, nothing good I've wanted to go see.

Best Movies (listed as they come to mind)
Collateral
Napoleon Dynamite
Best DVDs
Star Wars
Summer School (nothing to the DVD, just an awesome movie)
Big Let-Downs
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (could have been so much better)
Troy (same as above)
Spider-Man 2 (didn't live up to hype, 1st is better)
As I hit submit I know there's tons more I've forgotten...
1 night in paris - she is so fucking hot
kill bills - great shit
justice league - starcrossed - jl cartoon is amazing one of the best animated series ever
waitng to see
eternal sunshine - frined burnt me a copy, didnt get a chance to watch it
punisher - same as above
bourne supremacy
team america
napoleon dynamite
dodgeball
anchorman
letdowns - spiderman 2 - liked it but too hyped..i am a big spiderman fan and actually didnt have high expectations because doc ock is my least favorite villan - i was hoping for venom to at least make a cameo or something..but hey, maybe someday
lotr 3 - ive discussed this before..fight scenes were cool and stuff..but i dont see all the big fuss..it was 1 long drawn out battle/walk through the woods..for 3 1/2 hours..just like 2
alien v predator - couldve been very cool but..

My fav movie of 2004 has definitely been Kill Bill Vol. 2. After that I'll join in on the Eternal Sunshine love, it was a great movie.
1. Kill Bill Vol. 2
2. Eternal Sunshine
3. Spiderman 2
4. Team America - Fuck yeah!! 5. Saw
DVD's
1. Dawn of the Dead 1978 Ultimate Edition - 4 discs of extra love and special sauce, easily my best dvd purchase of the year.
After that it's kind of weak...
Also, this reminds me that I really need to see Garden State, when is it coming out on dvd?
