What a great book. I can't believe that i haven't read this until now.

For those that don't know about it, it's a series of letters. These letters are written by the demon Screwtape to his nephew Wormwood. Screwtape is in hell and Wormwood is a 'tempter' here on Earth. His goal of course being to gain souls for the devil. Screwtape is giving him advice on how to win over his 'patient' who is a recent convert to Christianity.

This book is so well-written and at the same time VERY insightful.

I've heard great things about it. Unfortunately, I've never read it. The only C.S Lewis book I've read aside from Narnia ones was The Problem of Pain.

Mere Christianity is a very interesting read too.

The 2nd half of the book kind of caused me to get tiredhead from reading it...but the first half was pretty good stuff

Yes Mere Christianity is a good book, too. Everything by Lewis will cause you to get tiredhead if you don't take it in small chunks. It's like reading philosophy. You have to think about everything being said and read it like three times over.

Screwtape is alright, but C.S. Lewis is a might heavy-handed and functionless in his efforts to promote his religion. Abolition of Man is bunk.

Pssst. That's kinda the point.

Heavy-handed? Maybe. Functionless? Not even.

How odd, I just started reading Screwtape Letters again last night. It's one of my favorite books.

Once upon a time when u2 was at least a respectable band, they released a video for hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me and in one scene somebody gets hit by a car and drops this book, pretty cool if you ask me.
