I was watching True Romance the other day and I'm always amazed at the stellar cast they were able to assemble. Anyway, it got me to thinking if any other films had a cast as impressive. I guess if I were doing a top 5 best ensembles in a movie, it would look something like this:

1. True Romance
2, JFK
3. Magnolia
4. Pulp Fiction
5. The Cannonball Run

Sure I'm missing a few.....any help with this?

Purely for the names on the screen and their widespread popularity at the time, I fully agree.

Shame on me for not mentioning that one in my original post.

I still haven't seen one that tops True Romance though.

I was gonna list The Godfather, but aside from Sterling Hayden and Marlon Brando, the rest of the cast was relatively unknown at the time. Still an amazing fucking cast, though.

I'm not factoring that in. If you look at it that way, about 70% of the REALLY good casts are disqualified.

I don't know about 70%, but you do have a point.

How about the Harry Potter flicks?

Richard Harris
Maggie Smith
Brendan Gleeson
Alan Rickman
Kenneth Branagh
Emma Thompson
Miranda Richardson
Gary Oldman
Ralph Fiennes
Warwick Davis (c'mon, he was Wicket, he's an all-star)

They're bloody foreigners, sure, but I'd consider that all-star.

Fear and Loathing in Lost Vegas has a pretty awesome cast for the amount of characters that have lines
