Bird
I was just talking about this in the thread about the upcoming Miles Davis picture. Forest Whitaker is sensational in his first big role, which was a hard role to tackle I'd say. Charlie Parker himself has been the absolute man in my eyes since I was a kiddo, long before I took up the sax when I was nine. So the fact that I appreciated Whitaker's portrayal says a lot! He was very humbled yet supreme, just like the way I picture the man himself.
He played him endearingly even through the many troubles but it never became silly. I think Bird himself would've dug it.

He wasn't a real person, but Woody Allen's movie Sweet and Lowdown about the second greatest (to Django Reinhardt) guitarist of his time, is an amazing movie with pretty good music and Sean Penn, the greatest actor of today.
