I was scared it would be ultra-hokey conspiracy type material, but it looks pretty tasteful. People just love to say that any movie made about 9/11 is drek without even watching it.

For the record, I didn't look at the subject matter and immediately assume it was a bad idea (although it did cross my mind). I waited until I heard the cheesy lines out of Cage's mouth before I did that.

One of the great things about art is that it allows people to respond to and reflect on not only imaginary events, but real ones as well. For filmmakers, musicians, etc. to ignore an event such as 9/11 would be to ignore the power of art to examine and shed light on such events. I'm not saying we should make huge blockbusters starring Sly Stallone about 9/11. But to say "this was horrible, so no movies/songs/books should be made about it" is not a good thing, in my opinion.

I don't know if you can compare a book on the subject to a movie. If it were a documentary I could see the comparison, but not otherwise.

Why not? Just because movies cost a lot of money to make, and are seen in theaters? It's sad that so many people no longer see movies as a valid form of art. Good Night & Good Luck, anyone?
