Description: When business gets slow at Moe's Tavern, Homer shows him the "Flaming Homer", a concoction of various liquors mixed with Krusty's Kough Syrup, and then sets it on fire. An instant hit, the drink attracts a lot of business. Moe renames it the 'Flaming Moe' and takes all credit. Moe's is now the most popular place in Springfield, even Aerosmith perform there. Homer feels he should be getting some money for it, but Moe refuses to cut him in. A local restaraunt chain offers Moe one million dollars for the secret ingredient to be revealled. But just as Moe is about to take the money, Homer bursts in and tells it to everybody, and the businessman walks away. Moe's Tavern returns to normal.

Discuss away!

My favorite part is Barney going "HOLY COW! YOU JUST FELL ON AEROSMITH!"

Haha...great episode.

Overall, it is probably one of my favorite episodes of the third season, which says a lot, being that it was the begining of The Simpsons golden age. This is one of the earliest characterizations of "scumbag Moe," a guy who is willing to do anything and betray anyone for a buck, a chick or any kind of positive recognition.

Highlights are a funny cameo by Aerosmith (Hellloooo St. Loooouiiiiis!!), Bart's prank calls backfiring (I'm Hugh Jass!), and ofcourse this:

MARGE: Homer, maybe you can take some consolation in the fact that somethign you created is making so many people happy.
HOMER: Oh, look at me! I'm making people happy! I'm the magical man from happy land in a gumdrop house on lollipop lane! (exits room and pops his head back in).....oh, by the way I was being sarcastic (slams door)
MARGE: Well...duh.

"When the weight of the world has got you down
And you want to end your life,
Bills to pay, a dead-end job,
And problems with the wife.
But don't throw in the tow'l,
'Cuz there's a place right down the block...
Where you can drink your misery away...
At Flaming Moe's.... (Let's all go to Flaming Moe's...)
When liquor in a mug (Let's all go to Flaming Moe's...)
Can warm you like a hug. (Flaming Moe's...)
And happiness is just a Flaming Moe away...
Happiness is just a Flaming Moe away..."

Had to make sure this got in here.

Moe - muh-muh - Moe - Moe...

It's an okay episode. The "sarcastic" rant is a classic.

That's at least one of my top 10, possibly top 5 Homer quotes in the history of the show. The number of times I've recited it at random is quite sad.

Yeah because Bart was jinxed.

And the part where Homer is reading the paper, then he glimpses while turning the page and sees Maggie with a makeover. He stared blankly at her for a bit, then said "That's it, I'm outta here."
