who's going to read it?

i was really excited for this one because it is such a different direction for him. but then i keep thinking about all the terrible love scenes and poorly written female characters he has had and i get nervous.

i don't want to hate it.

but then i think about delores clairborne...he did a fantastic job with those female characters. he did well with gerald's game, too.

What's this new one about? I'm sure I'll read it eventually.

I picked it up the day it came out. I plan on reading it after I finish my current book. It's getting really good reviews so far.

I'm about a hundred pages into it. I just haven't had time to dive into it for any long reads. So far it's really good.

Lisey is an amazingly lovable charecter already. I'm always amazed at how he can paint such a vivid picture of his charecters. I have high hopes for this one.

it is a love story. something that king is notoriously bad at writing.

but it sounds like GSS is liking it...that is a good sign.

I've read a lot of King's work...flipped through Eventhing's Eventual the other day. I do not have this book yet, but I am interested in what others think of it.

Which? Everything's Eventual or Lisey's Story?

EE is a good book. I'll post my opinion about Lisey's Story when i'm done.

I'm probably not the best judge, though. I've read all of his books in order of publication. I'm an SK nerd.

It is a good one. Clowns are scary fuckers!!

I take it that you have read The Stand? If not, you should read that before rereading It.

I'm also a Stephen King nerd, a fact which I keep hidden from the professors in my Masters in Writing program.

I thought King's best love story was Wizard and Glass. That book overall was one of his best.

I also picked Lisey's Story (to stay on topic), but I haven't started it yet. Not too excited, going in with low expectations...hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Why low expectations? Chances are it will be good. They're always good. Some are better than others. They are all entertaining, though.
