Wow. It's hard to say I enjoyed a movie like that. It was very good, but sad. I felt the same way after I saw Mystic River.

Its a great movie, it was one of the best of 2003, I thought it was better than Mystic River even. The actor who played the cop nearly ruined the whole film though, IMO.

I read this book and then (a couple years later) saw the movie. As usual, the book was better, but the movie was a very good rendition.

Great movie, it was just so intense that I had this strong drive to step outside and take in the warm, comforting rays of the sun.

I haven't' see HOSAF, but Mystic River left me feeling pretty shitty after it was over. Great movie, shitty feeling. :?

I totally agree about the cop...not a good performance. I've heard the book does a better job of painting him as a more three-dimensional person. That was the only detraction I had from a film that, to me, was even more devastating than Mystic River. Jennifer Connelly should've received an Oscar nomination.

I thought Ben Kingsley could have gotten an oscar for his role. He did a great job. Read Roger Ebert's review. He hits it head on.

I saw HOSAF this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The acting was top notch, minus the cop, and the overall story line was fantastic. I'd agree it's along the same lines as Mystic River, I personally liked MR better, but HOSAF is certainly worth the rent if you're looking for a good film and don't mind watching something a bit depressing.

Jennifer Connely is the most beautiful woman in movies today IMO. This movie was good also.

My friend read the book and loved it. After we got stoned one night, we went back to her house and someone had rented the movie. What a downer that was, but a beautiful one atleast.

This movie was very depressing, but most of the acting was very good.
I guess the lesson to be taken away after watching this one is to not procrastinate, and always make sure to read your mail. :?

She's probably one of my favorites actresses and I agree about your statement. I loved her in A Beautiful Mind, as well. House Of Sand And Fog is great, but wildly depressing.
