K i went to see Alfie with my g/f the weekend it came out.. I honestly think it was like a month ago and during the previews coming soon to a theare near u.. the previews for "Surviving Christmas" with James Gandolfini, Ben Affleck, and Christina Applegate.. well when I seen the previews I thought to myself what a bomb.. well I was walking in Blockbuster today and this movie was out on DVD already... i dont even remember this out in the movies... so the idiot that i am I rented it.. WHAT A BOMB.... And I knew it already but Ben Affleck is THE WORST ACTOR EVER..... and this might be a record in time from movie to dvd...

Two things to say about this thread before I run for cover:

- It's a business, and given the season, the movie might be doing much better in the dvd racks... You don't even have to see it before you buy it for someone else as a xmas present.

- I actually liked Ben Affleck in "Jersey Girl".

the only reason why this movie came out so fast on dvd is because it was ready for a christmas 2003 release. the movie is over a year and a half old. it finished filming in winter of 2003 but the studio didn't want to release it because they didn't want it to compete with "paycheck" another suxfleck movie that was out at the time. that is why the studio didn't try to sell the movie that much. it wasn't that bad, i saw it, it had some funny parts, it would have been better if afleck was not in it but overall it was not terrible. its worth a rent from blockbuster only if you have that unlimited monthly pass. otherwise save four bucks.

Is it worse than the movie where Arnold Schewartseneger and some other guy are trying to buy the same toy for their kid
or
Gremlins (I think indirectly it was a Christmas movie)

It's certainly not good enough to justify a 24-hour marathon, which is what FX is doing this year.

I cant believe it took a tv station this long to try and do something like what TNT does with a Christmas Story.. prolly could have made a better selection with Christmas Vacation rather than Jingle all the Way.. Oh well
