So far on the list I've got:

NHL 94 (is this the one I should go with?)
NBA Live 96

open to any suggestions/any genre

Nhl '94 is totally the one to go with. So many good teams in that game.

don't get NHL94 if you want to do a season, 95 and up all have the season option. i swear by 95 on sega. 94 on SNES.
